Holiday Dressing: Last Minute Christmas Eve Errands

This is the perfect outfit for all those last minute Holiday errands (groceries, gifts, wrapping, baking, etc.).  Casual, yet festive.  Layers work wonders for me during this time of the year, especially when one of them is a festive plaid blanket scarf ;). Today is filled with last minute wrapping & prepping for my bro & sis-in-law's big gender reveal tomorrow (I'm so excited to be the only one to know what's in her belly), crossing my fingers I can get all this done by tonight...

December, in a nutshell.  Today is all about making sure I have everything packed for Iowa, traveling with two kids & two dogs is no joke...it's been a full-time job just getting everything lined up & set aside.  This week is a little off routine posting, but don't worry...I have a few more holiday outfit posts scheduled for the weekend to make up for it.

Holiday Dressing: Company Christmas Party

The last time I wore this dress (also during the holidays), I had a big 'ole baby Zoey bump as an accessory.  We've skipped the Mr.'s company party the past two years due to our family baby shower for Zoey & a visit to a friend who had just had major surgery last year.  I was so excited to have a few hours of adult time with my Mr. & an excuse to get dressed up.  I was, by far, the most dressed up person at dinner, it's kind of hard not be when wearing sequins.  We had a great night out & the girls were both sound asleep when we got home, thanks to Grandma :)

Holiday Dressing: Visiting Santa

I kinda waited until the last minute to take the girls to see Santa this year.  I have no idea how, but I always feel like I'm prepared for Christmas until the ten day countdown hits.  Somehow, there's this huge list of to-do's & they're all last minute. Every. Single. Year!  At least I have an excuse this time, as I shipped almost all of our presents to Iowa & they still need to be wrapped.  Any way, I wore this to the mall to visit Santa with the girls solo.  I couldn't resist this tartan plain shirt from Old Navy, it's so perfect for the holidays this year.  As much as I miss all the glitz & glamour of holidays before kids, I love the challenge of finding outfits that fit both my style & lifestyle at the moment.  This is as glitzy as it gets for this mama...glitter flats & a faux fur vest.

Holiday Dressing: Taking in the Holiday Lights

Holiday Dressing week is finally here! I love putting together festive outfits for holiday-themed activities I think most of you participate in.  To kick off the week, I put together this outfit for a drive to check out holiday lights around town.  I'm usually not one to wear leggings as pants outside the house, but this plaid pair was too perfect to be left inside.  I paired it with a comfy sweater & knit cape, tossed on a fedora (you guys, my roots are TERRIBLE...I have a hair apt on my bday thank goodness) & a pair of riding boots to complete the perfect, cozy outfit.  I cannot wait to be back in Iowa this year for a drive though the Symphony of Lights (light/music display in one of my favorite parks from childhood).  The girls are going to love seeing the lights :)

Happy Friday! We're down to the ten day countdown to Christmas, if you can believe that?! This year is flying by faster than last year, which I didn't think was possible.  I'm pulled photos off my camera cards & put together this post about surprising my mom in Iowa for her 60th.  It was a special trip & we sincerely hope she had a great birthday weekend.  We're headed back there in a week from today & cannot wait to have everyone together again for the holidays...
