A Flair for the Dramatic

What you wear when you turn 34 the day after Christmas (which happens to be a holiday in Canada) & you get to escape for an adult-only lunch. The sweater, sparkly hair clips, & ankle booties were all part of my birthday gift, so it seemed plausible to wear them same day. I added my leather-look leggings & it was the perfect, stress-free outfit to enjoy my day.

It’s currently summer here, seems we’ve completely skipped spring...what else can 2020 possibly throw at us??? I’m still on my ‘extended’ mat leave & trying really hard to make the most of it, but secretly hoping for day dates at restaurants, drinks on a patio, and any excuse to wear real outfits again...

February 2020 Recap

A recap of February, our last full month when life was normal & ordinary. As we quickly gear up for warm-weather forecasts & loads of sunshine, I'm scurrying about trying to get everything cold-weather related posted.  Where do the days go during quarantine? I swear they're sped up somehow?

I love doing recap posts, it allows me to pass through memories one more time before they're stored away for another day.  We added a four-year-old to our household & celebrated Bo's first Valentine's Day, created our first candy sundae with supplies from the basement (I'm a pack rat), & enjoyed loads of snow during our first winter in Peterborough.

Snow day fun with warm drinks in our snowman cups (via Target).
Candy Sundae we snuck into cousin B's birthday bag :)
The perfect statement earrings for Valentine's Day (via Amazon).
Fun little extras (cups via Superstore, Pasta & books via Homesense).
Found some fun ombre wrapping paper for the kiddos :)
Treat jar & mini scoop (via Target).
Pancake supplies via Target :)
I love setting everything up the night before, it sets the perfect mood first thing in the morning :)
Bo's first Valentine's present from mama & dada (onesie via Indigo, book via Homesense).
Mr. Irresistible outfit is Cat & Jack from Target :)

Zoey is 4: A Frozen-Themed Winter Wonderland

In an attempt to empty off some camera cards, I realized I never shared photos from Zoey's 4th Birthday party.  It was the last time we had a full house of guests & I so miss hosting! I cannot wait to fill the house back up with family & friends. Until then, reminiscing will have to do...

Our big four-year-old! She was so happy with the decorations!
'Thanks Snow Much for Coming' take-home cups!
Cups had frozen candy bracelets, fruit snacks, & tattoos (via Walmart & Party City)
My parents brought cookies from my hometown bakery....the kids loved the rings, the adults loved the cookies!
DIY snow blankets from the dollar store made for the perfect addition to the few Frozen decorations we bought.
DIY centerpieces using fake snow & Xmas ornaments from the basement!
Snowflake crackers to fit the theme!
The kids loved these 'ice crystals'.
Zoey's cake, she was so excited!
Easy outfit for hosting (sweater: Amazon, earrings: F21).
The Birthday girl woke up to Frozen waffles & presents :)
Took her to her first trampoline park & the girls had a blast!
