Big Sister Gift Bags

I love the idea of big sister gifts! I did it with Zoey when Sadie was born & she was so excited her new little sister got her a gift.  Zoey was always excited about a new baby & never showed any signs of jealously.  This time, it may be a bit different.  Sadie is still claiming to be 'the baby' & having a tough time sharing mama these past few weeks.  Because they've been through so much change over the past few months, I thought I'd up my gifting game this time around. I added snacks & painting books to keep them occupied either at the hospital when visiting or at home with whoever was watching them :)

The gifts went over great & Zoey has been thanking her little brother every time she wears her new big sister shirt! They were a little concerned while I was in the hospital, as I’ve been their constant their whole lives (dada works shifts). It broke my heart to watch them cry for mama when they had to leave the hospital. It was a rough two nights there, but it was also amazing to just focus on our new babe!

For Christmas, I got the Mr. & baby boy matching sherpa fleece pullovers, so I decided to get the girls a set too :)

The girls are very into rainbows right now, so these gift bags were perfect (via Walmart).

Make Me Blush

Wow, time is flying...it’s hard to believe it’s been a few weeks since I’ve shared anything fashion-related! We’ve been soaking up all these newborn snuggles & making sure these big sisters of his are still being spoiled. I have a few posts left with this bump of mine, which I already miss.

These sneakers are one of my favs, especially for spring. The color is perfect & im excited to get more use out of them now that the swelling in my feet/ankles has disapated. This tunic? Also a huge hit post-partum due to its coverage & it’s light weight fabric. Popped on my new fav earrings for the season & some white denim to finish off this look...

Hospital Bag How-To

Since I’m currently at the hospital with a brand new baby on my chest, I thought I'd share what I pack in my hospital bag.  It's varied over the course of three babies, but that's to be expected.  Mine has actually been packed for a few weeks now, considering we moved two hours away & I was on my own during the week just before that.

For our first, I way overpacked...like way overpacked!!! I packed slippers that couldn't be washed (so they were obvi thrown out), the boppy pillow (totally unnecessary & didn't even touch it), & so many extra outfits I never even looked at until I had to unpack at home.  I learned my lesson with our second & packed only the necessities, which I've shared below...

I use an overnight bag from Target I bought for when Zoey was born.  It's the perfect size to hold everything we need while in the hospital.  My necessities for baby include:
-Swaddle blankets (x2) & receiving blankets (x2)
-A customized baby blanket I specifically pick out for their ride home (Etsy)
-Diapers/wipes, soothers, baby bath
-A onesie (in two sizes, just in case)
-A going home outfit
-Extras: letter board for announcement (F21)/hand print kit (Homesense)/memory journal (Chapters)

Since I pack in only one bag (so much easier you guys, I promise), I keep my necessities to the minimum:
-Comfy robe, nuring tanks, maternity leggings
-Shower supplies/toiletries & my make-up bag
-Flip flops (cheap or ones that can be sanitized after)
-Peri bottle/mesh underwear (if the hospital doesn't supply them)
-Camera/charger/electronic devices
-My secret weapon: Perineal ice packs scored on amazon (pictured above).

I do not recommend bringing your own pillows/blankets/slippers that you don't want to part with.  Hospitals use amazing cleaners, but it's still a hospital & you definitely don't want to track all those germs home to a new baby.

Kiss, Kiss

This tunic was my Valentine's gift from the Mr. (I totally buy my own gifts & he wraps them...anyone else do this?) & I've gotten a ton of use out of it so far, especially lately with the weather settling down. It's sold out a few times, but I happened to track it down on eBay for about half the price! I quickly paired this with my new fav taupe ankle booties & these perfect white tassel earrings I picked up on our last Target trip.

Today marks 38 weeks prego for this mama-of-three-to-be & I'm just playing the waiting game...jk, we're trying to just locate everything we're going to need for baby & anything we'll need to keep sane once he's here! We're getting down to the wire & I'm getting so excited to meet this peanut...

Photo Friday: Travel Deadline

It's been awhile since I've posted a Photo Friday & I'm not sure how I let that slip away from me??? Although we haven't been doing too much exploring recently, we were able to take advantage of our travel deadline before baby & head to NY for the afternoon.  We hit all my favs...Target, Chipotle, The Cheesecake Factory, & a good friend's house to catch-up.  It was the perfect afternoon...

We may or may not have spent $50 on cheesecake....#pregoproblems
This tunic from Free People was the perfect, flow top to wear for an afternoon getaway (via eBay)
Lunch on the go...Chipotle is a travel must-have for us!
Popped out for an hour of mama time for a drink ;)
Target finds (LOVE their soy candles & couldn't resist these earrings)

It's Been A Wreck-Me Week

It's been a wreck-me week....understatement of the century! Sorry for the lack of fashion-related material on any of my platforms this past week. We've been so busy with the move that I've hardly worn real pants (aka anything but leggings or yoga pants) or make-up.  There are boxes everywhere & nothing is fully finished, a little tough on this mama-to-be that seems to have entered full-on nesting mode!  We said goodbye to our first home yesterday & wrapped up our lives in our old city.  It was bittersweet, stressful, & a little bit scary.  It feels good to have everything in one place for the first time in months & to begin a new routine, all together.

This outfit is the last from the small capsule collection I had left at the old house.  I am happy to report that I have been fully reunited with my entire wardrobe, minus the major purge I did both before & after the move.  Again with this cape? I know, I know...but it's that good.  I couldn't resist pairing it with this blue tunic & these already-worn-so-much ankle booties.
