Life, Updated

Phew, it's been a week! We're in full prep mode for Sadie's 2nd Birthday weekend, as she turns two tomorrow & her party is Saturday afternoon.  In true lazy-mom status, I picked the same theme we used for Zoey (Oh TWO-dles aka Mickey Mouse). With the move & the new baby, it seemed to make the most sense & be the less stressful option.  She loves Mickey & is super excited about her birthday so it all seems to have worked out.

Here's a few new arrivals, which would have been better displayed in the 'What's New Wednesday' format.  Oops, I'm forcing myself to take a little more 'me time' which is usually spent showering or doing other quick tasks.

The perfect embroidered blouse, saving it for Fall (it's a beautiful shade of yellow)
Closet update finished! We added extra shelving around the entire space, a chandelier, & some USA artwork ;)
Sneak peek of this black tunic from Free People (& an upcoming outfit post).
I've had my eye on Ugg slippers & while I wouldn't have picked this color originally, the sale price was was too good...
We've added another memory journal to the stack! Keeping up has been a task, I won't lie (journals via Chapters).
This denim jacket, which was featured on my latest DIY project (via Old Navy).

Back Again

And I’m back in regular clothes again! Although limited & oversized, I’m loving having access to my pre-pregnancy wardrobe. It’s been a grey May up here, so I’ve been wearing pops of bright color more often than not (when I’m not in loungewear that is). These earrings were the perfect way to tie this sweater with these flats, worn to a wellness check-up for Bo & my niece’s birthday dinner.

How Do You Do?

The very last outfit post with the bump, which makes me a little sad. Don’t get me wrong, I’m grateful to have my body back to myself & way more energy (even though sleep is limited). It’s just a little weird to finalize this stage of life...no more making babies, from here on out.

I wore this to meet the Easter bunny with the girls after we first moved here. It was a great excuse to spoil them a little (shopping and lunch were also involved). It’s been crazy windy & rainy so far this spring, making outfit posts a rarity these days. Fingers crossed warmer weather reaches us soon...

What's New Wednesday

I obviously found some spare time to work on some blog posts, since I'm on a roll with back-to-back posts this week! Here's a few (now not so new) new wardrobe additions, snapped in our old house in my absolute fav room (the loft nursery).  I was on a blush pink kick apparently & decided on a new pair of sweater leggings for lounging on mat leave/post baby.  They are like heaven....so stretchy & cozy! I haven't had a chance to try out these booties yet, mostly because it's been so rainy & wet out.

Our First Month in PTBO

Good Morning! It's been awhile, but I've been soaking up all that newborn goodness & staying busy as a new mama of three (like, how did that happen?!).  We've officially been in the new city (& house) for over a month now & it's crazy how quickly time has flown by.  We're getting close to being fully unpacked, although the garage & basement are still complete chaos & Bo's nursery isn't even started yet (currently a spare room for guests since he's in our room in the basinette).  I'm grateful to just be able to get acclimated to all the new & make sure the girls are doing ok with everything. We're currently looking forward to another round of visitors at the end of the month & exploring our new city a lot more!

The view behind our house is magical in the morning...
April 1st was my first day of my last Maternity leave (sweater: free people, leggings: old navy).
Friday night pizza night is a lot more fun now that we get to try our new places :)
The girls have been playing with my old Barbies non-stop.  It makes a huge mess, but occupies them alllllll day long :)
Baby boy gifts galore...these were my favs from my boss (via baby gap).
Bo's nursery currently fits in his closet so we can have some space for guests :)
A little break from unpacking to visit the Easter Bunny with the girls :)
Easter basket assembly before I was induced made life a lot less stressful after he arrived.
Finally bought a bundt pants make Monkey Bread while my parents were here & it was a hit (especially with the girls).
My parents are my shopping helpers, all things new from J.Crew, Amazon, eBay, Free People, Pink Desert, Anthro, Etsy.
Starting a collection of cream knits from free people & new sunnies from Amazon :)
Family dinner & we were in charge of dessert, so turtle DQ ice cream cake for the win!

A MAMA DIY

I'm sharing a simple DIY project, for all those trendy Mamas in your world.  The original jacket has been on my radar for awhile now, but the price tag just didn't seem reasonable to me.  While I do love a good denim jacket, the MAMA patch on the back of it just didn't justify the price hike.  I looked around for dupes with no luck, only to type in MAMA PATCH on Etsy & viola...this DIY project was born.

I scored the jacket for 40% off at Old Navy, sizing up for a baggy look that could be worn over almost everything.  The patch, as mentioned before, was purchased on Etsy.  You can pick the size of the patch to achieve however bold a look you want.  I centered the patch while the iron was heating up. I'm a little embarrassed to admit, but I had to borrow an iron from my sis-in-law for this project... am I even an adult if I don't own an iron?! Any way, it turned out better than I imagined & have already worn it several times (the Mr. calls it my biker jacket...whatevs).

Supplies: Denim Jacket, MAMA patch, & an iron :)
I used a rule to center the patch on the back of the jacket & ironed it on!
Viola...ready to wear! It's the perfect gift for any mama or mama-to-be!

Photo Friday: It's So Hard to Say Goodbye

Looking at these photos feels like a lifetime ago & it's only been just over a month.  I won't lie, it was tough for me to say goodbye to our first house.  It was the first place that felt like home for me being so far from my entire side of the family in the midwest.  It was our first major purchase, where we said goodbye at the loss of a parent, where we started our family (furbabies included), & where we celebrated so many firsts.  We started our life together in our old city & made so many memories with some of our favorite people.  For the Mr., this move means coming home. For me, this move means starting over just as I did 9 years ago when I made the move to Canada...only this time, there are three babies involved.  It has been nice to be so close to family & I love being able to see them weekly at the very least!

One of our last days off in the old house.  I miss being minutes away from a Starbucks.
Daily front porch bump-shots, in the best mid-morning light (boots: Chloe via eBay)/ cape: zubaz/ all else: F21).
Zoey was brave enough to call on the 'soother fairy' just before we moved. She set her soother outside & the fairy takes it.
The soother fairy leaves a gift & glitter of course! There were remnants of purple glitter even on the day we left...
Had the girls pose with this the day we moved (March 30th, 2019).
We came back to hand over the keys (we bridged for a week) & had a little date afternoon at our fav place (Beertown).
It looks so sad empty...it was an emotional day for me, being 9 months prego didn't help haha.
We will never forget you, 658!
