A Flair for the Dramatic

What you wear when you turn 34 the day after Christmas (which happens to be a holiday in Canada) & you get to escape for an adult-only lunch. The sweater, sparkly hair clips, & ankle booties were all part of my birthday gift, so it seemed plausible to wear them same day. I added my leather-look leggings & it was the perfect, stress-free outfit to enjoy my day.

It’s currently summer here, seems we’ve completely skipped spring...what else can 2020 possibly throw at us??? I’m still on my ‘extended’ mat leave & trying really hard to make the most of it, but secretly hoping for day dates at restaurants, drinks on a patio, and any excuse to wear real outfits again...

Mad for Plaid

I checked to see if I had used this post title before & I indeed have, way back in 2013! My photos have improved a bit & I am happy to admit, I still own both plaid shirts! It’s the day after Mother’s Day & I’m left feeling so, so appreciative of my fam.  The weather is not to be desired, but that shouldn’t surprise us by now. This plaid popped up in the new arrivals on j.crew.com & I could not resist the colors, especially since I already had these earrings added to my cart. Paired with these booties, it’s a little on the extra side but totally ‘me’.

For You, Anything For You

Although taken well over a month ago, this outfit may just prove relevant in the next few days. This weather is just as confused as the rest of us are these days! I’m a sucker for mixing textures in colder temperatures, I love the dynamic of a girly blouse paired with a fuzzy vest & topped off with something as simple as a knit beanie. This, right here, is an outfit I could live in day in and out. Hope everyone is staying safe & not going too stir-crazy....

Over-Accessorize

FINALLY found the time to edit some more photos & get some blog posts prepped (tough to do when I've taken on several more roles during all of this, as most mama's have). Today I over-accessorized (which yes, it totally a thing).  It all just sorta fell together, you know...like almost all of my outfits! I'm really into this dusty shade of pink, especially paired with different neutrals & my go-to pair of denim.

Outift Inception

Taken back when there was snow, which isn’t as long ago as you may think. I’ll be sad to store my beanies away, they’re super helpful on bad hair days! This outfit started with this hat & went from there for an easy look that’s appropriate for playing outside & inside on days like this. I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve gotten ‘ready’ through all of this, but I really am trying to make this all about the kids & keeping them busy enough not to notice as much. I’ve got a ton of spring looks ready to roll, stay tuned...

Safe At Home

Hello All! We are currently on our third week of self-isolation. The kids haven't left the house, with the exception of a few car rides for ice cream pick-ups or exploration.  The Mr. is still working daily, which we are very fortunate for.  He works primarily outdoors away from his coworkers for the most part, with his own truck serving as his office. The kids have been troopers & I think have come to terms with the fact that we cannot go anywhere or see anyone (including gramma). I've really tried to put in a ton of effort to make these weeks (or months, who knows) go as smoothly & make them as memorable as possible. We tossed in potty training for Sadie & she's doing so well. The girls do better with some sort of a schedule, so we've been planning things the night before to keep them busy. I hope everyone is well, I truly do!

Now, let's get to why you actually come here...my outfit! I needed something sunny & bright. Oh, and to actually put on real clothes really improved my mood. These are all items I already owned, but just tried to style differently (also shot over a month ago when we still had snow). Warm, springy weather is headed here soon so I'm doing what I always do...rushing to wear all my sweaters as much as possible before they're stored away for the season!

Post-Valentine's Hangover

My last outfit from Valentine's weekend.  An easy all black look, kept festive with heart-shaped statement earrings & sunglasses.  We managed to take down 4.5 bottles of wine on Valentine's night, which made for an entire day spent snuggled in bed or on the couch on Saturday (still had a kid with me at all times, so I totally parented through it).  I haven't been that hungover since after I had Zoey & I completely remember why now.  I live for outfits this easy & functional, especially with three kiddos to chase around...

Valentine's Day: All Out on Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day! We've got Zo's four-year check-up & a lunch date scheduled for this afternoon, but first it's heart-shaped pancakes & presents for breakfast! This outfit is perfect for a day spent with my babies & helping Bo celebrate is very first Valentine's Day (he turns ten months tomorrow...ugh, it's way too soon)! I found these earrings on Amazon & only wish they came in pink as well.  They're light weight & hold up well, especially to baby tugs ;) I hope everyone has the best time celebrating love today, even if this holiday isn't for you.  It doesn't have to be romantic love, but just love in general...spend some time with family & friends, or treat yourself to something nice or an entire box of chocolate.  Life is for celebrating, which is why I love holidays so much!

Holiday Dressing: Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, etc.! I am once again, starting out the new year behind.  I wore this outfit on Christmas Day for family dinner.  This headband was the perfect touch & matched my sweater perfectly, which I coincidentally bought last summer.  The outfit sorta fell together after that, the perfect outfit for me.

I can hardly believe we've entered a new decade & how quickly the past one flew by.  It was the best decade spent buying houses & growing our family.  There will be some more old & frankly, irrelevant posts, headed your way soon.  I'm really going to try to give this space a little more attention, but only because it gives me a chance to put my creative side to use. I have so, so many fun pieces that haven't seen the light of day...I'm pretty excited to style them in the upcoming months :)

Holiday Dressing: Merry & Bright

Merry & Bright.  I had recently purchased this extra bright pink coat & randomly came across this sweatshirt featured on insta.  A brand I had never heard of, but instantly pictured this sweatshirt paired with that perfect pink coat & bought it on the spot.  I've been really good about over-thinking purchases & not just buying all the trendy items.  This? This I could not resist. To be fair, it's a cozy sweatshirt with a holiday phrase...win, win.  I love the way this outfit turned out!
