Photo Friday: From Now On...

Happy Friday! This week has been a big one at our house- we officially purchased & picked up our new vehicle on Wednesday.  It was a bittersweet moment, biding adieu to the only thing I've driven for the past nine years & to another little piece of USA.  Onto bigger & better things from now on...

Goodbye to 9 years of unforgettable memories...

Inside the Snow Globe

It's been a week of cold & occasional snow flurries, which means it's been the kind of weather where staying home cuddled up in blankets is all anyone wants to do.  Since I can't really stay home all day everyday, I've been bundling up in the next best thing- this blanket scarf.  The styling options vary oh so much with this piece that you should prepare yourself to see a lot more of it...

The Feeling is Neutral

The feeling is neutral.  It's been below freezing for days now, so wrapping myself up in this coat was a wise decision.  This outfit sort of just feel together, with the only determining factor for each piece being warmth....

Fireworks

A fresh start to a new week with this cardi from Free People.  The American in me couldn't resist the red, white, & blue colored yarn combination, or the 'fireworks' title.  Layered over a tee & paired with red accessories, I can't think of a better way to tackle a Monday...

Photo Friday: Winter Mode

Most casual time of the week.  Last weekend was spent wrapped up in this Free People cardigan & my favorite pair of denim.  I literally wore this all day Saturday & part of Sunday to a whole spectrum of events- out for breaky, our niece's hockey tourney, family dinner, a house party, & lounging around on football Sunday...

The 'Fireworks Cardi' from Free People (a bday present from my parents)
Carver's in Cambridge makes the best breakfast sammies, open at 7am Saturday's
Cheering on #4!
Quick latte run to keep warm at the rink
Made wings at home last Sunday
All weekend long in this outfit (Old Navy denim, F21 boots, Free People cardigan)
American Sniper was fantastic, definitely a must-see

Without Fail

This plaid blouse is very much the easiest piece to style, without fail.  It's the perfect piece to downplay this faux-fur scarf of mine during daylight hours.  Paired with all things black, it becomes Ontario winter-ready just like that...

Introducing....The Gypsy's Wanderlust

Be forewarned- this blog post is a thinly veiled opportunity for me to brag about an old friend & her new boutique, The Gypsy's Wanderlust.

The owner is the very definition of a free-spirit, which resonates throughout the boutique.  She has an educational background in fashion/entrepreneurial studies & a resume that boasts visual merchandising at Anthropologie, as well as making dreams come true in the sales department at Disney World.  Opening her own boutique was not only a dream come true, but a no-brainer for this fashion forward friend of mine.

I had the opportunity to visit & photograph the store on opening weekend this past November.  Although there has been more creative additions to the space, the theme of the store remains the same.  The boutique resides in Clinton, Iowa, but you can follow Amie's Facebook page (here) for new arrivals & shipping information ;)

Business cards are displayed in a vintage cheese crate on the counter
Earthy jewelry is displayed in a glass counter, hung off pieces of driftwood...
Many of her products are sourced locally (visit ebb & flow's etsy page here)
Hand-knitted goods are displayed colorfully on stumps & shelves
Vintage glassware can be found throughout the space
A variety of cardigans, knitwear, tees, & tops are displayed on industrial-style railings...
There's a wide range of accessories, which of course complement the clothing...
Upcycled candle holders created from vintage glass are also for sale, handcrafted by the owner herself...
Scarves are displayed on a small vintage table, pouring out of a vintage basket...

A Wintery Wonderland

What Ontario winter is made of, with the occasional -20C degree afternoon.  I braved the cold & put this cape to the test, just to shoot with the snow-blanketed tree limbs as a back-drop...

Pink Aviators

Current sunnie situation.  I haven't had a new pair in awhile, so these were definitely up my ally.  I chose a classic aviator & went with the pink revo lens...I needed something a bit more fun than my ordinary black frames. Paired with my pink winter coat, faux fur, & comfy separates...
