Post-Valentine's Hangover

My last outfit from Valentine's weekend.  An easy all black look, kept festive with heart-shaped statement earrings & sunglasses.  We managed to take down 4.5 bottles of wine on Valentine's night, which made for an entire day spent snuggled in bed or on the couch on Saturday (still had a kid with me at all times, so I totally parented through it).  I haven't been that hungover since after I had Zoey & I completely remember why now.  I live for outfits this easy & functional, especially with three kiddos to chase around...

Ridin' Roads

Winter outfits are some of my favorite to style.  All the layers & texture, paired with the best winter coats & boots.  We're quickly nearing the one year mark for being in our new house & city, I cannot believe how fast time is passing.  I'm both excited & terrified of what's to come in the next few months, making the control freak in me spaz out daily.

Today we’re celebrating Family Day up here & are currently en route to Vaughan Mills for the morning. After a few days around the house, we’ve got cabin fever & needed to escape.

Valentine's Day: All Out on Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day! We've got Zo's four-year check-up & a lunch date scheduled for this afternoon, but first it's heart-shaped pancakes & presents for breakfast! This outfit is perfect for a day spent with my babies & helping Bo celebrate is very first Valentine's Day (he turns ten months tomorrow...ugh, it's way too soon)! I found these earrings on Amazon & only wish they came in pink as well.  They're light weight & hold up well, especially to baby tugs ;) I hope everyone has the best time celebrating love today, even if this holiday isn't for you.  It doesn't have to be romantic love, but just love in general...spend some time with family & friends, or treat yourself to something nice or an entire box of chocolate.  Life is for celebrating, which is why I love holidays so much!

Valentine's Week: A Fancy Dinner Out

This blouse was originally purchased for the holidays.  It didn't get past my closet because Bo was extremely cranky from teething, so he was constantly in the carrier strapped to me at every event.  I was so afraid the carrier would catch on the lace & ruin it, so I benched it for Valentine's Day.  And you guys, it was worth the wait.  This blouse is EVERYTHING. It is the perfect shade of red & makes every pair of denim feel more put together.  I toned it down with ankle boots & crisp, white denim.  I love wearing white during winter, it's the perfect contrast to color yet feels seasonally appropriate all at once.  You could easily swap the booties out for a killer pair of heels to take it up a notch.  Heels have become almost non-existent in my world, so I love any excuse to wear a pair (for a short time that is).

Valentine's Week: Mama's Day Out

I've definitely rubbed off on the girls with my love of holidays.  We've been in hearts & red or pink all week long so far.  I actually wore this entire outfit out yesterday, sans kiddos.  This outfit is over the top, especially for a weekday afternoon, but it was so very necessary.  Shades of pink, paired with heart sunnies & a few basics made this outfit come together. The coat & earrings are the only newish pieces here, everything else is over a year old at least. And yes, I totally got weird looks, but also a lot of compliments.  What can I say? I like what I like & I dress for myself :)

Getting dressed in all the extras has a direct effect on my mood.  I shared this earlier, but we had no choice but to put our beloved Wrigley down Sunday night & it's taking everything I've got not to cry every 5 minutes when I find one of his crimpy hairs.  Just when I think I've got myself together, one of the girls will ask where Wrigley is & the process seems to start all over again.  So I really needed no reason at all to put these outfits together this week & spoiler alert: they are all over-the-top!
