I am still in awe at how fast 2010 has flown by! So many great things have happened, starting this blog is definitely one of them. A BIG Thank You for all of your support & patience, as I tried to better the blog & make it more fun to read because of you guys :) Our plans for NYE might be changing slightly due to me getting everyone sick, but I'm sure we'll still make the best of it! Since I haven't completely locked down my outfit for tonight and I can't show you an outfit post just yet, I decided to show you some new additions that arrived in the mail for me yesterday:)

Ahh, back to my normal schedule & posting routine! So remember my post inspired by an article about unexpected color combos on Refinery29 (seethe post here & the article here)? Once again, I found myself referring back to it...this time using my newest vintage addition. Everyone at work thought it was ridiculous I was wearing a skirt in the middle of winter, but I was surprisingly cozy & really comfortable. It's another short work week for me again and then NYE, I can't wait! Make sure to check back tomorrow, I have a special surprise just in time for 2011 ;)

As I was getting ready to go to dinner on my birthday, I walked into my bedroom to discover the best birthday surprise ever- two of my best friends, my brother, & my dad were waiting for me...they had driven over night to get here just in time for my birthday, it was literally the best birthday present I could have gotten! We then had a few people over & headed to the bowling alley, such a great 25th :) Thanks to everyone who came out to help me celebrate! As promised, here are a few of my gifts....
Hooray it's my 25th Birthday! This means I am a quarter-of-a-century old...holy cow! I'm such a Birthday fanatic, even when it's not my own...I started my day with a trip to the gym, opened some fantastic presents (I'll be showing you them soon), whipped up an Oreo cheesecake, & am now relaxing before all the fun & excitement begins tonight :) Hope all of you had a fantastic holiday!
Today concludes both SPARKLE week & my work week. I can only hope that all the sequins & glitter helped get you into the holiday spirit like it did for me :) Tomorrow is Christmas Eve, which means we'll be packing & running around like crazy to go visit family a few hours away. There will be a decadent dinner & drinks awaiting us, along with excited children fighting sleep for Santa's arrival....I love this time of year with our nieces & nephews!
Happy Sparkle Day 3 (AKA: Wednesday)! I am in love with these navy sequin tap shorts from Nasty Gal, they can be worn so many different ways...paired with a chunky knit, worn with a denim shirt, or layered over tights. Tonight, I'll be baking cookies & re-wrapping a few presents (my puppy likes to chew the ribbons), such a great way to spend a winter evening! What are some of your favorite things to do during the holidays?
Wearing: Blazer (ebay)/ Tee (Aritzia)/ Shorts (Nasty Gal)/Platforms (Primark)
I'm on Day 2 of Sparkle Week & couldn't be more excited about the upcoming holiday! I've been watching loads of Christmas-themed movies (my Elf DVD may just be on repeat) & guzzling Starbucks Holiday themed drinks. These leggings were purchased from Primark (via Ebay) awhile back & will be worn again, with a slight twist, on NYE (for now, I may change my mind before then haha). So why'd I select glimmering sequin leggings in shades of slate & gunmetal? I think it may have something to do with winter's grey, overcast skies that made them so irresistible.
Wearing: Blazer & Pearls (Asos)/ Sweater, Pumps, & Ring (F21)/ Tee (TNA)
Leggings (Primark via Ebay)/ Watch (Urban Outfitters)
Since there are only five more days until Christmas (where did the time go?!), I've decided to wear all of my glitziest & sparkliest pieces in one week. My first piece of SPARKLE arrived last week, a piece I've had my eye on for awhile. The front of this top is woven gold tinsel, which looks great paired with my cracked metallic leggings. Love this entire outfit when worn in the sunlight....
Black with a shot of cream, this outfit was definitely inspired with my morning beverage of choice in mind. The temperature has been so cold that I am never completely warm, thus the minimal quantity of photos for today. I've been using all the layering tricks I've learned over the years to combat the cold...thermal tights under pants, layers of socks, cardigans hidden under blazers, & several others. How do you stay warm in these freezing temps-any suggestions for me? Happy Weekend :)
