Start Fresh

I have a love-hate relationship with spring.  I very much look forward to shoes that no longer require socks, the lack of bulky jackets/coats, & plenty of warm sunshine.  I also have two dogs at home & that for that reason alone, I despise this season (wet & muddy paws anyone?).  I just couldn't resist starting fresh with some bold cobalt blue...

White Stripes

I'm so relieved striped denim didn't go off trend, although I'm not sure that would stop me from wearing these again any way. I paired these 'beetle juice pants' with a neon knit to break up the black & white monotonousness, through on my perspex-heeled boots for fun, & tossed on a ball cap for the finishing touch...

Tropical Brights

So this whole 'oh yeah it's Spring' mind-set is sort of ruined by the fact that snow is still very notable in southern Ontario.  On the schedule for this weekend: imposing on boys night at a mutual friend's house this evening, several bottles of red, belated gift-giving, errands aplenty, a little online perusing, & all the March Madness I can handle.  Here's what went on this past week:

The One???

I knew I wanted a faux fur vest when I started seeing them pop up on all my favorite blogs a few years back.  Most of the time when I see something I like, it seems like a torturous game of hide-and-seek in which I search every website/online store until I find 'the one'.  I typed in 'black faux fur vest' on Ebay one day & there it was, the perfect layering piece my wardrobe had been missing.

Inspiration: Black Bear

Black faux fur is a favorite of mine.  I can't quite tell you why it appeals to me the way it does, but something about it just screams warm, cozy, & stylish all at the same time.  I'd wish everyone a 'Happy first day of Spring', but since Mother Nature didn't get the memo,  I'll continue to enjoy the snow on the ground & stay bundled up...
