Hats off to this sweater, which after looking back through my outfit posts this year, realized I’ve worn  more often than not! It’s the perfect piece for chilly weather & it pairs so nicely with these sock booties! I’m running around like a crazy person today, trying to get ready for a quick trip back to Iowa tomorrow...

Sleep Training & Outfit Planning

Sleep training has been so tough with Sadie! She was a really gassy baby until seven months & then bam, she slept through the night with ease.  Next, our house was turned into a germ factory & she quickly developed some bad habits (waking up multiple times, eating whenever, & snuggling in our bed). When we came home from Iowa, it was time to get her back on a schedule (aka napping in her crib). Therefore, some days I don’t get to leave the house because their naps overlap.  I had this outfit ‘planned’ for several days before I actually got to wear & shoot it. I really liked letting this scarf be my starting point & working around it with a few cozy basics. These boots have been a lifesaver as a new mama, even though they’re not the most fashionable & like eight years old...

For Awhile Now...

I've been wearing versions of this very same outfit for awhile now, although I'm not quite sure why I never got around to documenting them?  This jacket (more like a structured cardigan really) is a staple for this mama.  I find I wear it more often around the holidays due to its' color scheme, but I just couldn't resist wearing it to a playgroup last week.  I'm in full out packing mode over here at our house- little miss Sadie & I are off to Iowa Thursday, just the two of us.  Big sister is going to have some one-on-one with grandma & dada :)

Photo Friday: A Mickey Mouse 2nd Birthday

Following yesterday's outfit post, I'm sharing photos from Zoey's Mickey Mouse-themed 2nd Birthday party (February 3rd).  I had a blast making most of the decorations & planning a party.  My grandmother unexpectedly passed away & we had to travel to Iowa instead of hosting family up here.  We were fairly sure Zoey wouldn't have a party considering the circumstances, but I packed the decorations along just in case (huge perk of driving, you can pack as much as you want).

We went for breakfast the morning of her birthday & the party sort of fell together at the breakfast table.  It was so last minute, I messaged invites to family members at 11am for a party to start at 3pm....and you know what? All of them made it! I'm so thankful & grateful to everyone who made time to come help her celebrate, it really meant so much to all of us! Enjoy the photos :)

Found the perfect Mickey sweatshirt on F21, perfect for a cozy house party :)

DIY'ed these red photo frames from a previous baby shower & ordered 24 pairs of ears as favors (via Ebay)

DIY'ed the highchair banner & ordered a same-height-as-Zoey mickey Balloon (she LOVED it, via Ebay).

We decided on hot dogs/sausages, cheesy potatoes, a few salads & cake...easy menu options for a last minute event!

Showering Baby Liam

Let me start off by saying how much I LOVE baby showers! Aren't they the best? Everyone is so thrilled, everything is tiny & adorable, & there's just so much anticipation in the air for that sweet babe to arrive.  As a newer mom myself, I can't refrain from feeling nostalgic at showers.  That mama has no idea just how much you can love someone & it's going to be amazing to see...

Photo Friday: Valentine's Edition

The remainder of our Valentine's Day.  We had such a great time celebrating with the girls! I love looking back at pictures from last year & seeing how far we've come as a family.  I had only been back to work for just over a month, Zoey was still bald & cranky from waking up for daycare, & Sadie was still on the inside.  So much change, in what feels like a blink of an eye.
