Think Pink

For those of you who don't know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  I have been incorporating the color pink into my outfit every day for the past several years during this month, even if this only means my nail polish.  Although I have never personally lost anyone to breast cancer, I have lost many relatives & friends to other forms of cancer.  I have been searching for a bubble gum pink blazer for some time now so imagine my surprise when I found one on Etsy just before the month of October began.  Per usual, this Etsy seller was so friendly & helpful :)  I told her I couldn't wait to wear this blazer several times throughout the month to show my support for this deadly disease, which must have inspired her.  Several days later, I received this message from her:

Hi Kelli,
I wanted to let you know that after you sent me a Convo letting me know that you were going to wear this blazer for breast cancer awareness month, I started thinking of how I could involve my shop in cancer awareness.  My decision has been to join the 'Etsy Project Embrace Team' (click HERE to read more) where I can donate proceeds from the shop to cancer awareness or research, as well as support other team members in their efforts. I have done charitable donations in the past and have wanted to make it a more regular part of my shop, but wasn't sure how.  Your message was the catalyst for me actually taking the steps to do something about it. Thank you.
Kind Regards, CrabappleVintage

Wow...how inspiring! It really does only take one person to make a difference in this world. One of my favorite online sites, Shopbop.com, also has a few items for sale that benefit Breast Cancer (Click HERE to see).  I recently purchased the Breast Cancer Awareness Heart Bracelet by Gorjana in which 60% of the proceeds from each bracelet will be donated to Breast Cancer Connections.

GET YOUR STREET STYLE

Most of the bloggers I personally follow have all had amazing photos from all the hottest fashion shows on their blogs for the past few weeks (so very jealous).  Since I wasn't able to attend any of those shows, I decided not to waste anyone's time with my opinion of the new collections.  Part of reviewing a collection is seeing how the garments move on the models & how the garments are showcased, none of which I had a chance to see :(  I have been looking at tons of street style photos on various websites & decided to pick some of my favorites. . .

COPENHAGEN

NEW YORK

MILAN

PARIS

I love how you can see touches of trends in most of these pictures, but there is still so much originality...how refreshing! I would wear most of these outfits & have a lot of similar pieces in my own wardrobe.

Spot-On

I got these heels over the summer & never got a chance to wear them, as I was in the midst of trying to wear all my sandals & flip-flops before it was too late. I'm on the verge of a cold & doing everything to fight it off (example: chugging orange juice & going to bed super early last night) so I wanted to step up my outfit to feel more like myself.  Such an odd combination I tossed together last night, centered around the shoes of course ;)

Parka (New Look), Watch (Casio), Hoop Earrings (Banana Republic)
Grey Turtleneck & Purple Cardi (J.Crew), Black Skirt (F21)
Heels (Primark), Black Tights (Express)
Gold ball Bracelet (H&M), Leopard Bracelet (Vintage)
Panther Ring (Asos), Disk Ring (Banana Republic)
Pumpkin Spice Latte, Banana Loaf, & Fruit Parfait...Starbucks=Love!
Rainy day...Wellies (Burberry)
