Spring Vibes, Two Years Later

I shared a little snippet of this outfit awhile back my instagram & explained how I had actually come up this outfit after Zoey was born.  It just never felt right (thanks again baby weight), was soon forgotten as cooler months approached, & I found myself prego again with Sadie.  I will never tire of pairing distressed denim with a polished top, it might be one of my favorite methods of styling.  This outfit was originally planned for Zo's first Easter, but it still felt appropriate for summer somehow...

Summer to Fall

This outfit is so me, especially since becoming a mama.  I need quick & easy, but just fashionable enough that I feel put together.  I love outfits just like this one, so much so that I repeat this one quite often (mixing up the accessories of course).  When I find something that works, I run with it & let it effortlessly carry me from season to season.  I know a lot of bloggers that wear everything new & then you never see it again, but that just isn't me.  When I purchase something, it has to matter- it's either a basic or a statement piece I can wear at least 5 different ways with what I've already got.  I think this method is the perfect way to build a personal wardrobe, where countless items can be mixed & matched.  This shirt is the perfect example & I can't wait to remix it for Fall soon...

Photo Friday: TIMBER! Sadie's One!

Happy Friday! Short weeks always feel the longest, am I right?! Our sweet Sadie turned one on May 24th & we thought what better way to kick-off summer than a lumberjack themed bash!  I sourced loads of buffalo plaid & reused a ton of decor from my sister-in-laws woodland animal-themed baby shower.  We had a great time celebrating all afternoon (& into the night) with both friends & family, we're so incredibly grateful to everyone who loves our sweet Sadie Sue :)

More party favors: LumBEARjack hats (Walmart) or Lumberjack Beards (Hobby Lobby)
Moosehead Lager for the more experienced Lumberjacks ;)

We set Sadie's highchair right in front of the fireplace for cake & photos, it made the perfect backdrop :)

Smile, There's Wine

Smile, there's wine! My sister-in-law is always the first to introduce me to & coax me into sampling new brands of red.  I'm new to drinking red, it was always a temperature thing for me & not the taste, but I've really learned to love it in recent years.  Why all this wine talk? As of tomorrow morning, I'm parenting solo for three days & will definitely need to repeat this motto by the end of the day.  You single parents out there, you are WARRIORS!

I pulled these sandals out & will be wearing them over & over to wrap up summer in the best of ways.  We've been completely swamped at work updating & revamping so many things that I need super simple outfits to get me through the day.  Come fall, I'll be ready for a little more over the top outfit prep (aka back to normal)...
