Photo Friday

Last weekend was a complete whirlwind that seemed to be over before I even realized it happened. We spent some time with family, caught a Jays game, stopped by Zara, & celebrated with beers...

LOVE the color of these flowers
Our niece Ava & her piled-on friendship bracelets...
HUGE crush on this one ;)

Pink Magic Markers

I remember being a little girl & referring to lipstick as a 'pink magic marker.' I've always been a chapstick/Lipgloss type of girl, until I found this vintage blouse that is ;)  Purchased from a fellow blogger (see her site here), this blouse is not only the perfect item to pair with my pink mohair sweater, but I love the girly print of lipstick, heels, bows, hats, & handbags.  I've had a hectic morning, so I apologize for the lack of photo creativity in advance.

Sweater (J.Crew), Camera Ring (F21)
Blouse (vintage via trixiave)

The Great Outdoors

Now, who wants to go on one last camping/fishing trip? I absolutely adore Shopbop.com's look-books.  All 5 of these looks are so fall-appropriate & make me want to live in flannel/boot combos :)  The shearling trim on the jacket in the last photo really inspired me to wear the newest edition to my wardrobe....
H&M Shearling-trimmed Bomber Jacket
Had to get these pants-so colorful & comfy, prefect for fall!
Denim Shirt (Asos), white tee (UO), Black Skinny Jeans (F21), Bead Necklace (Aldo)

Perfect for this cold & rainy weather...

Summer Wrap-Up

Labor Day marks the end of summer and it's another cloudy, blah day for us here in southern Ontario.  Since every store except the coffee shop (thank god) is closed today, I have spent some time (too much probably) catching up on my celebrity gossip.  It's a terrible, waste-of-time addiction, but I just can't help it...gossip magazines are one of my few guilty pleasures :)  Plans for today include a mid-day dinner get together with a few friends & a long walk with the dogs....what were your plans for Labor Day?

Blue Oxford (F21), tee (Aritzia), jeans (UO)

LaSt NiGhT oN 90210...

Yesterday was a GREAT day, one of those days where everything just goes according to plan :)  My meeting with a potential new client went amazingly well, I got to eat at one of my favorite places, and I attended my first Lacrosse game (apparently it's really big in Canada, who knew?) with four of my nieces & nephews :)  One of my co-workers got back from India yesterday after being gone for two weeks and brought me these awesome necklaces...I can't wait to wear them!

Ahh...Panera's IC Mocha & Chicken Salad Sandwich :)
A Tassel? The Colors of the beads? How fashion appropriate :)

In order to make it to the Lacrosse game on time, I only had time for a quick change of clothes after work.  I kept the skirt, swapped my heels for sneakers & my cardigan for my new mint sweater from American Apparel (LOVE their stuff, so comfy & awesome).

Peterborough Lakers vs. Brampton Excelsors Major Lacrosse
Lakers won this series of playoffs :)

P.S. Did anyone else notice the date yesterday, 9.02.10? The original is one of my all time favs:)

FALL STYLE GUIDE: Military Influence & Mixed Olives

I decided to save the BIGGEST & BEST trend for Fall 2010 for last: everything Military. Although reintroduced several season's ago, the military trend is still fighting on the forefront. This fall, shades of khaki, brown, & olive green are creating an impact.  After all, what man doesn't love a woman in uniform?!

MILITARY INFLUENCE
Ash egosit cuff booties, Max&Chloe demibullet necklace

Elizabeth&James shrunken surplus jacket, Juicy Couture skylar twill military jacket

NOW 1: Jacket (Mango), tee (Aritzia), skirt (Mango)
Wedges (Asos), Bag (H&M)
LATER 1: Jacket (Mango), tee (Aritzia), Jeggings (F21)
Bag (H&M), Oxfords (F21)
NOW 2: Parka (New Look), tee (H&M), jeggings (F21)
Sneakers (Steve Madden), Bag (H&M)
LATER 2: Parka (New Look), Cardi (H&M), Tee & Jeggings (F21)
Satchel & Wedges (Asos)
Fall's most essential layering piece is by far the Parka.  It can be worn for any occasion, whether it be worn over a sequin mini, with a t-shirt and boots, or atop a sweater dress, the Parka can do no wrong!

MIXED OLIVES

Equipment signature satin blouse, J.Brand houlihan twill cargo pants

Olive City: Parka (New Look), Jacket (Mango), Ripped tee & Cardi (F21)

Today, I opted for outfit 'NOW 1' because I could not wait any longer to wear this jacket (just arrived early this week)!  I love it & have already gone through my closet and thought of about ten different ways to wear it...

I really hope you have enjoyed my Fall Style Guide, as well as gained some sort of inspiration as to how to incorporate new trends into your own wardrobes :)  Happy Friday & Thanks for Reading!
